RTC Scholarship

In 2012 RTC will award nine scholarships, each in the amount of $1,000. There will be one scholarship awarded in each of our eight Director Districts and one scholarship at large. If we do not receive any applications for a director district, no scholarship will be awarded for that district. RTC encourages students to consider institutions of higher education located within the state of North Dakota. RTC’s scholarships will be awarded based on a random drawing between those applicants that meet the criteria listed below. RTC encourages all eligible high school seniors to apply!

Criteria . . . You must:

Be a senior in high school who will be entering your first year of college.

Be a current member of Reservation Telephone Cooperative. To be a member, you or your parents/guardians must have local telephone service from RTC.

Have a “C” average or better grade 9 thru December of grade 12.
Attend a college or university in the state of North Dakota.

Have been involved in 5 different extra-curricular activities during high school. List each activity only once, regardless of the number of years involved. Activities may be school, employment or community activities.

We will need:

A transcript from your high school signed by a school official.

A photograph of yourself suitable for publication emailed to rtc@RTC.coop and a completed consent/release form.

When to Apply:
Apply NOW! Click on the 2012 RTC Scholarship Application link at the bottom of this page. Applications are also available at the RTC Business Office. Application forms and attachments should be submitted to: RTC, PO Box 68, Parshall ND 58770-0068. Applications must be postmarked on or before April 6, 2012.

Scholarship Check:
The scholarship check will be mailed to the Financial Aid Office of the institution you will be attending. The check will be made out in the names of the scholarship recipient and the institution. The amount of the scholarship will be divided equally per semester throughout the first year. If a recipient withdraws from school or elects to attend a non-accredited school after receiving a scholarship from RTC, the scholarship will be terminated and any refunds from the school will be made to the cooperative.

Scholarships will be awarded without regard to race, color, national origin, age, religion, sex or disability. Children of current RTC employees or directors are ineligible. Reservation Telephone Cooperative reserves the right to terminate the scholarship program or change the provisions and conditions with reasonable notice except that: once a scholarship is awarded for a school year, it will continue throughout the expiration of the term.
